Promises Made, Promises Kept

Jennifer Gregerson is the first woman elected to serve as Mayor of Mukilteo in 2013 after serving on the City Council rooted in her community involvement, local values, and long-term focus. As Mayor, she has prioritized issues including public safety, walkable neighborhoods, and education.

Jennifer has been a leader in education, partnering with stakeholders to bring students across the city expanded opportunities that open future doors. Working with Mukilteo School District, she ensured every school has a School Resource Officer to protect student safety. She also invested in Cool Girls in Aerospace, a summer workshop that introduces engineering to middle school girls.

An avid biker, Jennifer spearheaded the development of Mukilteo’s pedestrian and bike master plan and ensured the city added its first new sidewalks and bike lanes in decades. She’s also fought to support victims of domestic violence, funding the first domestic violence victims coordinator, a program that has now been expanded to support all victims of crime.

Jennifer values the voices of her community. She led the effort to form the City’s Climate Action Committee which delivered a Climate Action Plan last fall; the Wise Investments in Transportation Taskforce which gave recommendations on transportation to the City; the first Rosehill Community Board; and the City’s first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission.

Jennifer grew up in Mukilteo where her parents worked in a small, family-owned business. That experience demonstrated the importance of economic opportunity, a priority she has routinely championed as Mayor. Jennifer developed a Women Executive Leaders network and was named the 2015 Woman of the Year by the Greater Everett Business and Professional Women. A fixture of the community, Jennifer served two years as Lighthouse Festival President and has supported the Mukilteo Farmers Market.

Jennifer graduated from Kamiak High School before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in French from New York University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Washington. She now lives in Mukilteo near her childhood home.
